Nicole Spencer is a Doctor prepared Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in primary care, public health, adult gerontology, and acute care medicine. She has dedicated her career to improving patient outcomes through preventive care, chronic disease management, health education, and evidence based clinical practice across diverse healthcare settings.
Nicole has served in multiple advanced practice roles throughout North Carolina, including outpatient primary care, public health clinics, student health services, and population health programs. Her clinical background includes caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations with a focus on comprehensive assessments, continuity of care, wellness visits, and management of complex medical conditions. She has also supported large scale public health initiatives, including COVID screening and respiratory care services, while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Nicole spent many years as a Registered Nurse in medical surgical, bariatric, observation, and acute care environments. Her experience as a charge nurse, preceptor, and educator strengthened her leadership skills and commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and compassionate care delivery.
Nicole earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and completed both Adult Gerontology and Family Nurse Practitioner training through the University of North Carolina system. She is passionate about preventive medicine, patient advocacy, and supporting high quality in facility care through collaborative provider networks and patient centered clinical care.
