Family Nurse Practitioner
Amanda Johnson is a Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of healthcare experience across family medicine, primary care, urgent care, hospital medicine, critical care, and community health. Her extensive clinical background allows her to provide comprehensive, patient centered care for individuals with acute conditions, chronic illnesses, and complex healthcare needs.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Amanda has cared for patients across the lifespan in primary care, urgent care, and hospital settings. Her experience includes comprehensive health assessments, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, medication management, interpretation of laboratory studies, EKGs and diagnostic imaging, preventive care, and coordination with specialists. She is committed to developing individualized, evidence based treatment plans while helping patients and families better understand and manage their health.
Amanda’s clinical experience also includes hospitalist medicine and care transition initiatives designed to identify barriers affecting medication adherence, access to care, and repeated hospital utilization. Through hospital evaluations and follow-up home visits, she helped support a successful program focused on improving continuity of care and reducing avoidable hospital readmissions.
Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Amanda developed a strong nursing foundation in medical, surgical, and cardiac intensive care, post-anesthesia recovery, endoscopy, and surgical services. Her critical care experience included caring for medically complex patients requiring ventilator support, tracheostomy care, intravenous therapies, advanced medication management, and complex wound care. She also volunteered aboard Mercy Ships, providing postoperative and critical care support to patients receiving life-changing surgical treatment.
Amanda earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and maintains certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is dedicated to compassionate clinical practice, patient advocacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and improving health outcomes throughout every stage of care.
Through her work with Post Acute Clinical Services, Amanda supports reliable in facility care 7 days a week through the provider network.
