Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Amrita Nair is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years of healthcare experience across primary care, internal medicine, orthopedics, neuroscience, perioperative care, and geriatric medicine. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence based care that supports healthy aging, chronic disease management, and improved patient outcomes.

Amrita currently provides primary care and internal medicine services at Spectrum Medical Care, caring for adolescent and adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Her clinical expertise includes comprehensive patient assessments, preventive medicine, medication management, chronic disease treatment, diagnostic evaluation, and office-based procedures including joint injections, wound care, suture removal, and ear irrigation. She emphasizes patient education and individualized treatment plans that promote long-term health and wellness.

Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Amrita developed extensive nursing experience within nationally recognized healthcare systems, including Duke University Health System and UNC Health. Her background includes neuroscience, neurosurgery, orthopedic trauma, post-anesthesia recovery, spine care, and continuing care retirement communities. These experiences provided a strong foundation in caring for medically complex adult and geriatric patients while collaborating closely with physicians, surgeons, rehabilitation teams, and nursing staff.

Amrita earned her Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from Duke University School of Nursing and completed clinical training in orthopedic trauma, primary care, and Veterans Affairs medicine. Before entering nursing, she also earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural sciences, reflecting a lifelong commitment to learning and professional growth.

Through her work with Post Acute Clinical Services, Amrita is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence based care that promotes clinical stability, strengthens continuity of care, and improves quality of life for residents. She supports coordinated in facility care delivered 7 days a week by the provider network.
