Family Nurse Practitioner

Kacy McDonough, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a diverse clinical background spanning urgent care, primary care, behavioral health, emergency medicine, critical care, perioperative nursing, and healthcare leadership. She is dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care while improving access, patient outcomes, and continuity of care across a wide range of healthcare settings.

Kacy currently provides comprehensive urgent and primary care services, evaluating and treating patients across the lifespan with both acute and chronic medical conditions. Her clinical expertise includes preventive care, chronic disease management, women’s and men’s health, pediatric care, diagnostic interpretation, in-office procedures, imaging review, laboratory evaluation, medication management, and treatment of behavioral health concerns. She is experienced in performing suturing, incision and drainage procedures, occupational health evaluations, and Department of Transportation physical examinations while caring for high patient volumes in fast-paced clinical environments.

In addition to primary care, Kacy has extensive experience in psychiatric and behavioral health medicine, providing care for patients experiencing acute psychosis, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and other complex mental health conditions. Her work includes crisis intervention, medication management, patient education, interdisciplinary care coordination, and stabilization of patients with severe behavioral health needs.

Prior to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, Kacy built a strong nursing foundation in emergency medicine, intensive care, trauma, and perioperative services. She served in leadership roles as a charge nurse and operating room supervisor within Level I trauma centers, coordinating large multidisciplinary teams while supporting complex surgical procedures, emergency response, and critical care operations. Her experience also includes years of teaching and academic leadership as a nursing and business educator, where she developed curricula, mentored students, and led faculty and accreditation initiatives.

Kacy earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Columbus State University after completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Her unique combination of clinical expertise, leadership experience, and educational background allows her to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care while fostering collaboration across healthcare teams.

Through her work with Post Acute Clinical Services, Kacy is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care that promotes clinical stability, strengthens continuity of care, and improves quality of life for residents. She supports coordinated in facility care delivered 7 days a week by the provider network.
