Karen Smith is an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years of nursing experience across medical surgical, oncology, renal, orthopedic, post surgical, behavioral health, and post acute care settings. She is dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient centered care while supporting strong clinical outcomes and continuity of care for adult and geriatric populations.

Karen’s clinical background includes extensive experience caring for medically complex patients in hospital and long term care environments. She has worked in oncology and renal services, orthopedic and postoperative care, labor and delivery, and behavioral health support settings. Her experience includes patient assessment, medication management, pain management, hospice care support, and interdisciplinary coordination across a wide range of healthcare environments.

In leadership roles, Karen has served as an Assistant Nurse Manager and participated in clinical informatics and policy development initiatives. She has also mentored nursing students and newly hired nurses, reflecting her commitment to education, teamwork, and high standards of patient care.

Karen earned her Master of Science in Nursing from South University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from North Carolina A&T State University.
