Family Nurse Practitioner

Janet Poindexter, MSN, FNP-BC, is a highly experienced Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years of clinical practice caring for patients across the continuum of care. Her background spans primary care, post-acute medicine, long-term care, home-based healthcare, and medically complex patient management, allowing her to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to individuals from pediatrics through geriatrics.

Throughout her career, Janet has developed extensive expertise in managing acute and chronic medical conditions, caring for patients in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, private residences, and specialized care settings. She has significant experience treating medically complex patients, including those requiring ventilator support, tracheostomy care, PEG tube management, wound care, and end-of-life planning. Her clinical skills also include office-based procedures such as joint injections, biopsies, incision and drainage, lesion removal, women’s health services, and diagnostic interpretation.

In addition to direct patient care, Janet has served as a respected clinical mentor and leader throughout her career. She has onboarded and trained numerous nurse practitioners, developed provider education materials and end-of-life protocols, led quality improvement initiatives, and helped improve clinical performance measures through evidence-based practice and collaborative leadership. Her dedication to education and quality care has consistently contributed to stronger patient outcomes and enhanced healthcare delivery.
