Dr. Yasmin Heater Williamson is a board-trained Internal Medicine physician with more than two decades of experience in post-acute, hospital-based, and complex inpatient care. She provides comprehensive management of medically complex adults across Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Acute Care (LTACH), rehabilitation, correctional, and traditional hospital settings.
Her clinical expertise includes diabetes management, dyslipidemia, refractory hypertension, cardiovascular preventive medicine, obesity management, sleep medicine, lymphedema management, palliative medicine, and inpatient psychiatric medicine. Dr. Williamson has extensive experience reducing avoidable hospital transfers by identifying high-risk patients early and intervening proactively within post-acute environments.
Throughout her career, she has held multiple physician leadership roles, including Medical Director of Internal Medicine, Medical Director of High Observation Units, Chair of Ethics Committees, Physician Leader for Quality Improvement, and member of Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees. She has also served as a nocturnist covering both acute care and long-term acute care hospitals simultaneously, managing critical care evaluations, emergency admissions, central line placements, and code response.
Dr. Williamson earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia and completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at Summa Health System. She is licensed in North Carolina and has experience with multiple EMR platforms, including Cerner and Epic.
